Our Story
Meet Rebecca - The GGFF Founder

Rebecca grew up in Madison, WI, and after attaining her master’s degree in music, became a professional opera singer. She has lived with her musician husband and 2 children in Sydney, Australia, Hong Kong, The Netherlands and Belgium, and she moved back to Wisconsin, where she has lived the last 12 years. After taking a garden design course in England, and living amongst the tulips and floral still life paintings in the Netherlands, Rebecca developed a passion for gardens and flowers. She took the Master Gardener Horticulture course through UW Madison and then the Floret Course in 2024 in preparation for starting the Growing Good Flower Farm. She is a full time music teacher and director, and runs the flower farm in her spare time.
Turning our Backyard into a Flower Farm
We have created and expanded our farm over the last few years by using silage tarps and sheet mulching to eliminate grass, and create beds for natives, perennials and annual flowers for the farm and to help support our pollinators, birds and other animals.
Without the benefit of a greenhouse (maybe someday!), we use our basement as our seed starting and nurturing room. We have 10 stations set up with grow lights to start our earliest seeds in February.

Our Mission
The mission of the Growing Good Flower Farm is to grow unique and beautiful flowers, while honoring the land and using organic and non-invasive practices to live in harmony with the natural world around us.
